How to set up your Kenton Control Freak SE with Pro Tools:

1) Firstly, set up the Control Freak in OMS (if you are using a Mac).
This will enable the Freak to show up in Pro Tools as a device.

2) Once this is done go to the MIDI menu in Pro Tools, then into the
'Input Devices' within that menu. Check that the Freak is crossed (i.e.
active) then close the menu.

3) Go to the Hardware menu in Pro Tools and select 'Peripherals'.

4) Select the 'MIDI Controllers' tab in this window. You will be using
MIDI controller slot 1. In the 'Type' box (currently set to 'None')
select CS-10. In the next box on the right, marked 'Receive From',
select the Control Freak. You can select anything you wish in the 'Send
To' Box but it is not a good idea to send this to one of your synths or
samplers - I normally use the IAC Buss. The Control Freak does not like
a 2-way connection within Pro Tools, but Pro Tools insists upon having a
device specified in the 'Send To' box.

5) The last parameter to set is the 'CHS' box - set this to 8.

6) If you close this window you should now find (when you select the Pro
Tools profile in your Freak) that you have control of your Pro Tools
volume faders and mute commands using the Freak's faders and buttons.

7) Unfortunately it is only possible to control the first 16 channels of
Pro Tools in this way. This is a limitation that is imposed on 3rd
party profiles by the Digidesign controller setup, not a limitation of
the Control Freak.

8) Have fun!
